The first North American Open Qualifier for the fourth season of Psyonix’s Rocket League Championship Series went about as expected, as teams with big name players breezed past the competition and advanced to the next round of qualifications. Notable names among the teams that qualified today are Cloud 9 and G2 Esports, as both teams are considered to be among the best in North America, and will most likely end up competing in the Rocket League Championship Series. Cloud 9 in particular will be looking for redemption, after a poor weekend last season knocked Squishy and Torment (then part of Iris) out of RLCS contention, despite the fact that many considered them and Lachinio to be the best team in North America at the time.

With the Top 32 from Qualifier One set in stone, these teams will now wait until the rest of the play-in pool is determined. For a further breakdown of how the qualifying process works, check out this diagram by @CloudFuel.
